I find positive music to be helpful to me while struggling (at times improved motivation, mood and thinking more positively). I can also see the other side that more emotional music can help people cope with their emotions by hearing it. It depends on the person to what they prefer but if you're interested in some songs that I like. Here are a few below:

"I believe" is a song by the metalcore band Killswitch Engage. Lyrics "I believe there is hope for better days. I believe". "The light will guide my way"

"A Symptom Of Being Human" is a song by the rock band Shinedown. They talk about a bunch of common mental health feelings and thoughts (expressed very deeply) and they finish the song with Don't worry, it's all just a symptom Of being human. I feel the message they are trying to convey is you're not alone.

"One more light" is a song by the rock band Linkin Park. Lyrics "Who cares if one more light goes out? Well, I do" great lyrics by the late linkin park singer. People do care.

"Follow the sun" is a pop/folk song by the Australian artist Xavier Rudd. He sings about not getting tied up with worries, life and embracing nature and the environment we are in. There are some great lyrics and compared to my other more heavier rock, or even metal tunes this is a lot more relaxing!

To explore other genres: Back when I use to listen to a bit of hip-hop, there was a UK artist that made a freestyle. He said. "When times get hard and you feel like you can't manage. Remember who you are you can tackle any challenge" - while I don't really listen to rap anymore, I found this phrase to be very lifting when I was struggling to complete my university foundation degree due to physical health and some poor mental health.
